Pete Bennetts was inducted as Pastoral Leader of the Port Pirie Baptist Church on Sunday 30th July. He and His wife Deb, after many years of actively serving the Lord in local churches, have felt the call to enter into paid vocational ministry. After a period of discernment by the church and Pete and Deb, this call was confirmed at a members meeting in June.
Together with the church, they are grateful for the way God has lead them to this point and look forward to many faithful years of ministry together.
The induction was led by Leigh Philip, the Rural Regional minister, and Mark Foley, their moderator. Mark preached from Exodus 33, encouraging Pete and Deb to know God, and to always seek the Glory of God above all else. The service was attended by representatives of Jamestown Uniting Church, where Pete had attended for the previous five years. Representatives from the local churches and community also attended and everyone was treated to soup, rolls and slices afterwards.
We rejoice with Port Pirie Baptist in this next phase of its life and pray God’s blessing they seek to honour God in all they do.
