“At Global Interaction, prayer isn’t something we just do, prayer is at the very heart of who we are.”Scott Pilgrim, Executive Director
Prayer makes a difference in the daily lives of the Global Interaction family. The regular news updates from team members, especially the weekly Hotline communique, highlight that God is active amongst least-reached people groups.
Teams are witnessing more people open to exploring and responding to Jesus. One SA worker was asked if she was a follower. Another reported a change in heart and deeper conversations with a woman close to her.
In the past 12 months teams have witnessed the baptisms of new believers and a willingness to live out their faith within their communities in new ways. God is breathing new life, hope and joy into believers, taking something old, and creating something new.
Let us continue to pray for the Spirit to prepare people to hear, overcome barriers and meet with workers to build authentic relationships. Despite years of faithful work in some locations, teams remain in the early stages of sharing the Gospel due to political, social, cultural, and linguistic barriers that work against people hearing and accepting.
Let us continue to pray for emerging faith communities and the development of leadership, for God to strengthen local believers as they discern the aspects of their culture they can accept, or must modify or reject as followers of Jesus, and for the believers to remain deeply connected to their communities, enabling them to share their faith and invite others to meet Jesus. Pray for local believers as they discern their identity when they feel neither entirely part of the mainstream, nor identify with established Christian churches, which would result in extraction from family and community. They want, and need, to be part of their local communities.
Here is an opportunity to connect through prayer.
The Just Prayer weekend, 13 to 15 November 2020, is an intentional activity by Global Interaction to highlight the need for prayer for the least reached to hear the message of Jesus in a way that makes sense to them.
