Developing Transitional Pathways from Adversity towards Opportunity
As I mentioned in my February article, Baptist Care SA is currently embracing the challenge of articulating our community service priorities for the next 3 – 5 years as we continue to pursue and fulfill our compelling Mission:
Baptist Care SA expresses God’s love and compassion for people, especially those at risk and marginalised, by journeying with them toward the attainment of their full potential.
Our skilled staff and over 200 dedicated volunteers are engaging with hundreds of vulnerable people on your behalf every day. As we move forward, our staff will be seeking to partner with our faithful Baptist Churches wherever possible, so that we can work more closely together in response to the unmet needs of disadvantaged people in local communities.
Children, Young People, Families and Aboriginal people/communities have been identified through a process of strategic discernment with our key stakeholders as priorities for future service development and delivery. Accordingly, we will be seeking to align our existing and future services toward these groups.
We are also reviewing how our services may be better aligned to support our clients to move from life experiences of ‘adversity towards opportunity’ and fullness of life.
As the future horizon becomes clearer, I’ll share with you the ways in which the partnership between Baptist Care SA and the faithful Baptist community can be further invigorated and empowered to ‘be salt’ and ‘shed light’ in South Australian communities and beyond.
Please continue to pray with me that our Lord will shed His the light of hope, truth and grace upon the life transition pathways of the vulnerable people we serve each day.
Blessings to you.
