Chief Executive Officer
Baptist Care NT is a community service arm of the Baptist Union of Churches in the Northern Territory. It exists to express God’s love by responding to the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of people in partnership with local churches and the wider community.
The Board of Baptist Care NT is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer who can embrace and give effect to the vision of the Board for the agency to be a dynamic influence in creating opportunities for people in need across the Northern Territory to live with dignity and hope and encounter God’s love in action. The appointee will demonstrate a very strong personal alignment with the faith tradition of the member Baptist Churches, their values, beliefs and practice.
Baptist Care NT is predominantly focused on food security for the poor and marginalised in the NT. It operates the Northern Territory arm of FoodBank, supporting other charities and schools through the region to access food for their programs and a direct community food distribution program to the community in partnership with local churches called Food for Life.
The Board has a vision to expand beyond the valuable food security work and contribute to meeting a broader range of social needs across the Territory. In partnership with the Board and member churches, the new CEO will be charged with establishing and developing these new programs.
The person appointed will be a strategic thinker by nature and a leader by example, who can build new services from the ground up, through mobilising and unifying a wide range of stakeholders from the church, government and the wider community in pursuit of the vision. They will have strong relational, program development and management skills, ideally developed in the social services sector. They will be able to effectively manage the finances, business opportunities and existing food security programs of the agency, while progressively expanding the range of services into identified areas of high need within the community
Expressions of interest are invited, by Oct 7th 2019
