Christmas is a time of joy, of giving and of sharing.
With the help of our generous donors giving both time and money, we were all able to share the joy of Christmas with many South Australian families.
Christmas can be a really tough time for families struggling with family breakdown, homelessness and/or financial burden.
With your help we were able to bring happiness to others in our immediate and broader community:
Carols in the Square – Our gift to the Community
“Camaraderie”, “great music” and a “lovely balance of community” were some of the key takeaways from last year’s event. As one participant aptly put it, Carols in the Square is all about “celebrating Christ’s birth with people from all walks of life”.
Clients from our WestCare Centre, local residents, Baptist Church members, staff and some new faces all turned out to share in the festive spirit. Lord Mayor Martin Haese and Rachel Sanderson MP, Shadow Minister for Child Protection also took time to join us and chat with our young people and clients.

Carols in the Square 2017
With brilliant compèring by Kit & Pete from Life FM and wonderful performances by Holdfast Bay Concert Band, Tutti Choir and Matteo Mazzilli, together with a story from Andrew McDonough and a Nativity Play by Westcare Baptist Church, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our partner Westcare Baptist Church, our sponsors Street Fleet and Beyond Bank, and to Adelaide City Council and all the volunteers who helped to make this event so special.
Festive Lunch and gifts for Children at Inner City
This year we were able to spread the Christmas cheer to more than 100 families known to our WestCare Centre. On Christmas Day, around 100 people gathered at the Day Centre to share a hearty and festive Lunch prepared by our kitchen team and wonderful volunteers.
Thanks to those who donated to our Toy Appeal and enabled us to give a gift to every child known to our Inner City services – that’s a total of 270 children who received a present!
Our sincere thanks to everyone who donated their time, food, gifts and money. Together we were able to give our clients a truly memorable Christmas.
