Ordination: A long-awaited day for Nona Gregory
On Sunday 3rd June Nona Gregory was Ordained among a very large gathering of supporters at the Blackwood Hills Baptist Church. It was the culmination of 6 years of hard work and preparation and the congregations of Village Church Melrose Park & Norwood, as well as Blackwood Hills, shared in Nona and her family’s joy.
Nona walked into our church around twenty years ago unsure, insecure and lacking confidence. Over the years she has grown in many areas and has become an outstanding leader and communicator. She is a credit to herself, her family, and our church.
Today she is a ‘force’ who leads with great passion. The Ordination service was a joyful celebration, led by Nona’s two daughters. It also included a ‘Quiz’ about Nona which had all 300 plus people involved. It was a lot of fun.
Brandon Chaplin, Senior Pastor said, “It was truly one of the great moments in the 79 year history of our church. That is not overstating it. People who have been a part of this community for many decades consider it as a moment to cherish. We have all shared in Nona’s achievement and joy and we are all still buzzing about it!”
